Peers call for detailed R&D plan and reform of innovation rules

Lords committee finds bureaucratic barriers to Catapults’ collaborations and calls for overhaul of red tape

Current funding rules need overhauling because they are hampering collaboration of the UK’s network of Catapult innovation centres with industrial and academic partners, an influential group of peers has said.

The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee has also called for a detailed strategic plan for delivering the government’s R&D ambitions, including setting milestones for increasing private sector investment and a list of technologies to prioritise.
