UKRI recovers encrypted data without paying ransom

    

News follows a ransomware cyberattack that led to suspension of some of the funder’s services

UK Research and Innovation says it has recovered data encrypted in a ransomware cyberattack last week “without having to pay anything”.

The research funder announced on 26 January that a cyberattack took place, affecting its research office portal and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council’s extranet, whose services were then suspended.
