Funder replies to concerns raised about its work by 10 Black female academics and campaigners
The UK’s national research funder has responded to an open letter, written over a year ago by 10 prominent Black female academics and campaigners, criticising its approach to the representation of Black researchers and their participation in research.
Some of the authors of the letter had recently expressed disappointment that UK Research and Innovation was yet to publicly respond to their concerns, but UKRI has now said it decided to delay publishing an open response while it was engaging in “active and ongoing dialogue” with the authors and others “across diverse communities”.
