UKRI reveals more details on open-access books fund

  

National funder gives an update before its open-access policy for books comes into force

National funder UK Research and Innovation has revealed more details on the fund to support its open-access policy for long-form content ahead of the requirement kicking in at the beginning of next year.

For well over a year now, UKRI has been requiring research articles resulting from its funding to be made immediately open access. From 1 January 2024, it will require monographs, book chapters and edited collections resulting from its funding to be open access within 12 months of publication.
