Union members vote in favour of strike action over pay, job losses and redundancy terms

Union members at the national funder UK Research and Innovation are set to walk out on 15 March—the day of the spring budget—after voting in favour of strike action.

The Prospect union said 80 per cent of its members balloted at a number of government agencies—including UKRI—had voted in favour of striking, amid a dispute over pay, the threat of job losses and a proposed cut to redundancy terms. Of those balloted, 92 per cent also voted in favour of action short of a strike.
