UKRI accused of ‘excluding’ independent researchers

                 

National funder’s equality, diversity and inclusion strategy makes no mention of the group, complain researchers

National funder UK Research and Innovation has been criticised for “excluding” independent researchers from its newly published Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

Independent researchers Helen Kara and Linda Baines called out UKRI for omitting the group from the document, which sets out the funder’s ambition to create a research and innovation system “by everyone, for everyone”.
