Peter Gluckman says exercise “will reward nimble universities” and applauds shift away from research outputs
The chair of an international advisory group for the Research Excellence Framework says he is “pleased” about decisions made by the UK’s four funding bodies ahead of the next exercise in 2028.
Peter Gluckman (pictured), president of the International Science Council, chaired a committee whose recommendations were published on 15 June, the same day that Research England, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, and the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland, announced a shake-up to the exercise.
