Turing Award winner joins UK programme on AI safety

Advanced Research and Invention Agency welcomes “world-renowned” artificial intelligence expert as programme science director

The UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency has announced that “world-renowned” computer scientist Yoshua Bengio has become the scientific director of its programme on the safety of artificial intelligence.

Aria said on 7 August that Bengio, a winner of the Turing Award—widely regarded as the highest prize in computer science—will provide advice across the programme and support its director David Dalrymple.
