Bigger say for students in assessing teaching

The Higher Education Authority and the National Union of Students launched a scheme on 30 September which should give students a bigger say in how they are taught and recognise the achievements of good teachers.

The UK-wide Student-Led Teaching Awards Scheme has been set up following the success of a two-year pilot programme in Scotland. In 2010, the HEA and NUS Scotland supported awards at 13 institutions allowing students to show their appreciation for staff committed to providing good quality teaching.
