HEFCE anticipates ‘tensions’ in new role

The Higher Education Funding Council for England has said it anticipates “tensions” between different objectives, duties and powers in its role of lead regulator in a new regulatory framework for higher education.

The concern is raised in HEFCE’s response to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills technical consultation on regulatory reform for higher education, which closed on 27 October.
