Science is Vital, but scientists have problems

Career instability caused by successive fixed-term contracts and the shortage of permanent research positions are the main bugbears that scientists have with their professional lives, according to the campaign group Science is Vital.

The findings come from a survey of 700 scientists at all stages of their careers at 160 institutions around the country.
