Welsh minister urges University of Wales chairman to resign

Leighton Andrews, the Welsh education minister, has said the chairman of the University of Wales’ council should step down over the institution’s “repeated failures of institutional governance”.

The university has faced criticism—including from the Welsh Assembly Government and the Quality Assurance Agency—about the way it has managed its external validation arrangements.
