Don’t deter international students, say vice-chancellors

In the last six months more than 450 colleges in the UK have lost their ability to sponsor students from outside the EU, the UK Border Agency has said.

Changes to immigration rules meant that more than 400 colleges lost their right to recruit international students after they failed to sign up for the new inspection system, while a further 50 had licences revoked, said the UKBA.
