More than 100 academics have rounded on celebrity historian David Starkey in a letter to the Times Higher Education magazine.
In the letter, published on 26 August, historians from many UK universities admonished Starkey for his comments on a recent BBC Newsnight programme about racial and cultural causes of the UK riots.
