Pharmacologist Julia Buckingham, pro-rector for Education and Academic Affairs at Imperial College London, has been appointed the next vice-chancellor and principal of Brunel University.
Buckingham will take up the position on 1 October 2012, replacing vice-chancellor Chris Jenks.
