Edinburgh celebrates £250m bounty year

The University of Edinburgh has passed a funding milestone, attracting £250 million in the year 2011-12.

The haul is 37 per cent more than the previous year and is a record for any Scottish university. The money includes £135m from UK research councils and £34m from Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and other charities.
