York to provide historical health research to WHO

The World Health Organization is to access and use research conducted at the University of York’s Centre for Global Health Histories.

The centre has been named by the WHO as a Collaborating Centre for Global Health Histories. There are more than 800 other centres with this designation worldwide. As part of the scheme, York’s centre will work with WHO staff to organise seminars, run public-engagement initiatives and evaluate policy.

The status runs for four years and is renewable.
