HEFCE pledges £25m for postgraduate students

The Higher Education Funding Council for England has announced it is putting £25 million towards supporting students on postgraduate taught courses at more than 40 universities.

HEFCE says in a statement that the scheme will "test ways of supporting progression into taught postgraduate education in England". Some 20 pilot projects supporting more than 2,800 students will be supported.

The money will go towards providing grants and studentships for postgraduate programmes covering a mixture of disciplines and courses at universities including University College London, the University of Sheffield, the University of Worcester, Lancaster University and the University of Derby.
