UK finds friends in China

A number of UK universities have formed partnerships with institutions in China, science minister David Willetts announced during a visit to the country.

A £6.5-million cancer research centre is to be established by Cardiff University and the Capital Medical University in Beijing, and an agreement for future collaborations has been signed by Lancaster University and Guangdong’s provincial office of science and technology.

The Open University has signed agreements with Chongqing University and the Peking University School of Telemedical Education.
