English universities encouraged to work with LEPs for EU funding

Universities in England are being told to make the most of the next round of EU structural and investment funding, worth €6.17 billion.

This funding has been allocated to England for 2014-20, and Local Enterprise Partnerships will be responsible for overseeing its use in promoting growth.

The Higher Education Funding Council for England, Research Councils UK and the vice-chancellors’ group Universities UK have written to English universities encouraging them to work with LEPs to leverage the funding for higher education.
