The Francis Crick Institute will advance UK science and innovation by supporting “creative and ambitious research” and accelerating the translation of that work, its director Paul Nurse has said.
Speaking on 6 June at the topping-out ceremony, held when a building has reached its highest point, Nurse said the Crick’s emphasis would be on multidisciplinary research and young and emerging talent.
Outlining five strategic priorities, Nurse stressed the importance of working collaboratively and inspiring the public while remaining at the “forefront of medical innovation”.
