Derby plans engineering and computing block

The University of Derby has requested planning permission for the addition of an engineering and computer science building to its Markeaton Street campus.

The building would combine teaching space and laboratories and would boost the university’s ability to conduct research in these subjects, Nikos Antonopoulos, dean of the college of engineering and technology, told the Derby Telegraph

The paper reports that an application has been made for a four-storey building, which is expected to cost £12 million to build. It says that consultation on the planning application will run until 15 December.
