UK faces fight to keep attracting international students

The UK’s market share of international students is set to decrease over the next decade, a report published by the British Council says.

The Shape of International Education to 2025 report, released on 10 December, makes predictions of student mobility in the next decade, based on household wealth and the population of people of tertiary-education age.

It predicts that in 2025 China will still be the largest source of international students worldwide, followed by India, Nigeria, Germany and Saudi Arabia. Other countries such as France, Turkey, South Korea and Pakistan are also expected to send many of their university students to study in other countries.
