Philip Dilley, the former executive chairman of Arup Group, is to take over from Eliza Manningham-Buller as the chairman of Imperial College London’s governing council.
Dilley, who is also chairman of the Environment Agency, will take on the Imperial role from 18 May. He has been serving on the council since 2011. Dilley is an alumnus of the university, having obtained an undergraduate degree in civil engineering in 1976.
Manningham-Buller served as chairwoman of the Imperial council for four years. She has been appointed chairwoman of the Wellcome Trust, a role she will take on in the autumn.
