Glasgow awards contract for research hub

The University of Glasgow has named the winner of a tender to develop a £40-million research hub at its Gilmorehill campus in the city's West End.

In a statement issued on 4 January, engineering professional services company WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff confirmed that it had secured the appointment along with global architecture firm HOK.

John Cox, senior technical director for building structures at WSP, said that the contract was a “significant win” for the company and would strengthen its relationship with the university and raise its engineering skills profile in the education sector across Scotland and the UK.
