John Latham, the vice-chancellor of Coventry University, has been elected deputy chairman of the University Alliance.
Latham began his three-year term on 1 January, succeeding Mary Stuart, vice-chancellor of the University of Lincoln. He has a background in IT and telecommunications and, before being made vice-chancellor of Coventry University in 2014, was the deputy vice-chancellor for business development.
In a press release, Latham said he was looking forward to making a difference to all the cities and regions represented by the alliance “through high-quality teaching and research with impact”.
