A delegation of eight Russell Group vice-chancellors has travelled to China discuss the opportunities for further collaboration between UK and Chinese universities.
Discussions with leaders from the China 9 alliance of nine Chinese universities, will address how to “foster excellence in research, innovation and higher education”. The meeting will be co-chaired by Jie Zhang, president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and David Greenaway, chairman of the Russell Group and vice-chancellor of the University of Nottingham.
They will then sign a joint statement pledging to “deepen engagement and strengthen existing relationships”, share information and approaches to global challenges and facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge across the two countries.
