Andrew Hosty, former chief operating officer for Morgan Advanced Materials, has been appointed chief executive of the Sir Henry Royce Institute.
The University of Manchester, which will host the institute, announced Hosty’s appointment in a statement on 1 November.
Hosty holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield and is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has more than 25 years of experience in strategy, research and operations for ceramic, alloy and composites businesses in the areas of aerospace, medicine, electronics and petrochemicals. According to the university, Hosty has been responsible for manufacturing facilities and contract negotiations in Europe, China, India and Latin America.
