Janet Beer, head of the University of Liverpool, will become the next leader of the vice-chancellors' lobby group.
Beer, who has led the University of Liverpool since 2015 and previously spent seven years as vice-chancellor of Oxford Brookes University, will take up the role on 1 August 2017 and hold the post for two years.
In a statement issued on 24 November, Nicola Dandridge, chief executive of Universities UK, said that Beer was “widely respected throughout the university sector” and would bring “considerable experience and leadership” to the role.
