The results of the vast majority of clinical trials carried out by UK university medical schools are not recorded on official registries, a report has said.
Campaign organisation TranspariMED reported that only six per cent of the 3,540 clinical trials carried out by 16 British universities that appeared among the top performing medical research establishments in three university rankings, had their results posted on clinical trial registries.
The results of the remaining trials were “difficult or impossible to find”, the report, published on 17 August, says.
