On the morning of 24 July—less than an hour before Boris Johnson was due to become prime minister—Anand Menon was facing a daunting line-up of radio and TV interviews on the incoming premier’s Brexit policies.
In the scorching Westminster heat, a noisy quarrel of placard-brandishing protesters from both sides of the argument was chanting “Leave means leave!” and “Bollocks to Brexit!” But the European politics professor took time out to meet with Research Fortnight in a nearby café.
