Universities should face sanctions over clinical trials, says charity

Sense About Science says institutions have an ‘overriding ethical and moral obligation’ to report trials

Universities and NHS trusts should face sanctions if they fail to report clinical trials, MPs have heard.

Speaking at a House of Commons Science and Technology Committee hearing on 29 October, Síle Lane, head of international campaigns and policy at the charity Sense About Science, said clinical trial sponsors and researchers had an “overriding ethical and moral obligation” to report trials.
