Results come after government announced plans to decouple the award from funding decisions
Higher education institutions and departments have had record success in applications for Athena Swan Charter awards over the past year. The announcement comes a month after the government said such awards should no longer be taken into account in funding decisions.
A total of 75 of the gender equality awards were approved in the latest round, according to Advance HE, which runs the charter, including two new gold awards, 18 silver and 55 bronze awards.
