Outcry as Southampton brings in postgraduate application fee

Announcement follows phase-out of fee at Oxford and backlash at Imperial College London introducing one

The University of Southampton has become the latest institution to introduce a controversial application fee for postgraduate courses, sparking anger from campaigners.

The university says the £50 fee announced this month will apply to postgraduate taught programmes for 2021-22 entry and “may change from year to year”.
