Ireland offers €2.1m for Northern Ireland Erasmus+ access

  

Country says funds will only apply to higher education, with terms to be agreed

The Republic of Ireland has confirmed that it will fund continued access to Erasmus+ for university students in Northern Ireland to the tune of €2.1m per year, coming from the Irish Exchequer.

However, the Irish government said the scheme would only apply to higher education students. Details of how and under what rules it will operate are yet to be agreed between higher education institutions in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
