Fewer than 1 per cent of all UK professors are Black, according to latest data

Black academics made up less than 1 per cent of all professors in the last academic year, showing virtually no change from the year before in the proportion of top-level staff, data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency has shown.

Statistics published on 19 January show that there were 155 Black professors in UK universities in the 2019-20 academic year, representing around 0.68 per cent of all professors.
