Multi-million pound rail link ‘will improve research collaboration’

Oxford to Cambridge Varsity Line receives more government funding

Universities in the Oxford-Cambridge region have welcomed the latest development in long-running plans for a railway linking their cities.

The Department for Transport said on 23 January that £760 million of funding will be made available for the next phase of the east-west rail route running between the university cities of Oxford and Cambridge via Milton Keynes and Bedford.
