Security issues found on Coursera online learning platform

Coursera says “low-risk” issues were addressed without the need to inform universities

A number of security flaws have been discovered in the online learning platform Coursera, which counts several UK universities among its clients.

On 8 July, the software security firm Checkmarx said that in 2020 it had discovered “multiple API [application programming interface] issues” in Coursera’s system, which included a problem with authorisation when users logged in to the platform.
