General secretary criticises plans for indefinite action early next year as fresh pay negotiations stall

The general secretary of the University and College Union has hit out at the union’s higher education committee after it unveiled plans for an “all-out, indefinite strike” in February next year.

In a video posted on Twitter on 13 December—viewed more than 67,000 times—Grady said the HEC had proposed a marking boycott from January and an all-out strike the following month as part of the ongoing disputes over pay, conditions and pensions.
