
Universities UK has responded to three OfS consultations on teaching excellence and regulation
Plans to introduce a “requires improvement” category to the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF) should be scrapped, vice-chancellors have said.
In its response to an ongoing Office for Students consultation on proposals to reform the TEF, Universities UK—which represents vice-chancellors—said the addition of a “requires improvement” rating “could be reputationally damaging for institutions assumed to be ‘failing’ despite meeting high-quality thresholds”.
