MillionPlus report calls on ministers to capitalise on role of modern institutions in levelling up

Modern universities should be utilised as “vital actors” in the government’s ambition to bolster regions outside London and the south-east, the MillionPlus group of universities has said.

In a report championing the role of modern universities in the government’s levelling-up agenda, MillionPlus shows that the expenditure of modern universities adds an economic benefit of £17 billion across the UK, in part by supporting over 210,000 jobs UK-wide.
