Space agency chair
David Willetts, a former science and universities minister, has been appointed chair of the UK Space Agency’s board. Willetts, who served as minister from 2010 until 2014, took up the post last month and will work alongside Paul Bate, the agency’s recently appointed chief executive. Willetts has previously served as chair of the British Science Association, on the board of UK Research and Innovation and on the European Space Agency’s expert group on the future of space in Europe. Business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said he would bring a “wealth of expertise to the role”.
