Sheffield Hallam to cut English literature and few other courses

    

Institution says no job losses associated with “small number” of course closures

Sheffield Hallam University is to cut its English literature course, prompting further concern over arts and humanities provision in modern universities.

Applications for English literature at the university will not be accepted for the 2023-24 academic year, and literature will instead become part of a wider English degree.
