Staff ‘initiate industrial dispute’ with UCU over pay offer

Members of Unite union are dissatisfied with offer from the University and College Union

Unionised staff employed by the University and College Union have voted to reject their employer’s latest pay offer, with a majority indicating a willingness to take industrial action.

Unite’s UCU branch said on social media that, in an indicative ballot with a turnout of 90 per cent, about 65 per cent of members had voted to reject the latest pay deal. Some 63 per cent of those canvassed said they were prepared to take industrial action.
