Disabled students more likely to defer start of their degree

Ucas analysis finds applicants with autism significantly more likely to delay their studies

University applicants on the autism spectrum were significantly more likely to defer the start of their degree last year, an analysis by admissions body Ucas has shown.

According to a report looking at the experience of disabled students in UK education, published on 1 July, higher education applicants with an autism-spectrum condition were 11 per cent more likely to defer the start of their studies than non-disabled students.
