Report suggests university governors should take greater role in quality assurance to avoid over-regulation

Universities’ governing bodies need to take a more active role in assuring the quality of their courses or risk even greater regulation, according to a report from the Higher Education Policy Institute.

In the report, deputy chief executive of GuildHE Alex Bols calls on governing bodies to try harder to understand academic issues in universities and help to protect quality in their institution.
