Vice-chancellors call for rethink of research funding after quality-related 2022-23 budget allocations did not rise

Welsh universities have called for “further consideration” of how research and innovation is funded in the nation following a flatlined funding allocation for quality-related research there.

Since the Research Excellence Framework 2021 results were published in May, the UK’s national funders have been publishing allocations of QR research funding for individual universities in 2022-23.
