UK school leavers flock to selective universities

    

But some high-tariff providers see numbers fall

The 2021 student recruitment cycle has revealed wide institutional differences in the number of UK school leavers recruited by universities across the UK.

Overall, Ucas data show there was an increase of 7 per cent in the number of domestic 18-year-olds placed in UK higher education 2021, up from 257,895 in 2020 to 275,235 last year.
