Universities have ‘no excuses’ for online-only teaching, Zahawi says

Education secretary tells national newspaper that students should receive in-person instruction

Universities have been told they have “no excuses” for moving classes online, despite England suffering high case numbers of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.

Education secretary Nadhim Zahawi told The Sunday Times on 9 January that universities should be giving students in-person tuition, and he urged students to complain to England’s watchdog if they feel their university experience is falling short.
