Researchers advised to emphasise boost for local area in requests for funding from policymakers

Researchers who are looking to lobby the government for more funding should demonstrate how R&D cash helps the local economy, the Higher Education Policy Institute has said.

A report published by Hepi on 19 January advised researchers who want to make their case to policymakers that “one of the most effective ways” to grab their attention is “showing what [R&D funding] does for the local community and economy”.
